Presentation of the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practices regulations as outlined in the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act including application for Food Chemical and Food Ingredient Manufacturers.

The Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act was passed in 1938 on the heels of Upton Sinclair's 1906 novel “The Jungle” describing the conditions in food packaging facilities in the Chicago area. The Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act requires that manufactures of food or food components implement Good Manufacturing Practices to insure that food is clean and uncontaminated …
