Inquiry Matters: Incorporating Inquiry into Elementary Physical Science

Inquiry Matters is a professional development workshop designed to help elementary teachers become more familiar and comfortable with the National Science Education Content Standards by integrating hands on learning into their classrooms across the curriculum. The workshop is designed for teachers who would like to make their science classes more fun by implementing an inquiry-based teaching/learning style for various topics in physical science, such as the discovery of “properties of objects and materials” and “properties and changes of properties in matter.” Participants will spend most of their time doing the first three investigations from Inquiry in Action, led by the facilitators who model an inquiry-based presentation style.
