Chemical technicians: thriving in the 2015 workplace

By 2015, today's workplace will be modified by several trends already in place and gathering force. These include:

* globalization and offshoring of many U.S. chemistry jobs * continued restructuring by the current chemical and pharmaceutical industries * major growth of new industries in nanotechnology, catalyst applications, genomics and other fields that will provide new jobs for chemical technicians * continued empowerment of technicians and transfer of many job functions currently performed by chemists to technicians. * growing workplace flexibility that will enable chemical technicians to pursue various alternative career fields developing from their laboratory careers

How chemical technicians can navigate these changes between now at 2015 and enjoy rewarding, successful careers? Possible strategies will be described.
