Targeted Organic Synthesis
Presentations should be about a targeted synthesis of an organic molecule. These could be, for example, a natural product, an active pharmaceutical ingredient, specialty chemicals, or other molecules of either biological, commercial, or structural interest. The synthesis can of course be “total” synthesis but may also be “semi” synthesis. Preferably, the targets should be “small” molecules, as opposed to “large” molecules such as polymers or proteins. Both academic and industrial speakers will be accepted. Methodology may be part of the presentation, but should be part of the research conducted in the course of the targeted synthesis. Submitted talks will be either 20 minutes or 30 minutes, at the discretion of the chair.
