Polymer Chemistry (POLY)
Polymer Synthesis, Characterization, and Application, Part I
These two sessions will focus on the broad area of polymer synthesis, including radical, anionic, cationic, and metal-coordination polymerizations. The synthesis of various macromolecular assemblies such as dendrimers or starburst polymers, multi-arm polymers, block copolymers, and conducting polymers will be presented. The presentations will focus largely on the synthesis and characterization of the polymeric assemblies, but their employment in materials, such as fuel cells and chemical sensors, may also be discussed.
