Joseph Priestley: Rebel with a Cause, Part I
The signature event is "On the air with Joseph Priestley" with Joseph Priestley (Ron Blatchley) being interviewed by Jim Bohning at the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia. After the interview at which I will serve as the radio/TV announcer, there will be a question and answer session in which we hope Ben Franklin (Robert D. Minard) will be in the audience. The interview and Q&A should last a little over an hour. Other speakers at this session will be: Les Woodcock. He is going to focus on Priestley's discovery of Coulomb's Law and postulation of black holes along with other unrecognized discoveries. Andrea Bashore. She will focus on how Priestley House became a museum and will probably include the short film of the ACS Golden Jubilee dedication at Priestley House in 1926 and maybe the 2001 ACS event at JPH. James J. Bohning. He will talk about Priestley's trips between Northumberland to Philadelphia and what happens at both ends of these trips -- interactions with Jefferson, Adams, Washington, Benjamin Rush, etc.. His routes are based on Indian trails which pass near Hershey.
