This paper will describe the preparation and the applications of activated carbon made from Milo (Sorghum vulgare) seed utilizing the ChemcharŽ gasification process. This medium surface area and low ash activated carbon was used for containment and vitrification of metals such as Cobalt and Copper. Leaching studies of the final vitrified form indicated successful containment of the metals in the ash.
