We have been investigating the structural, electronic, conformational and steric parameters that lead to the various types of interesting and novel intramolecular aryne cycloadditions (IMACs) and rearrangements. In this paper we present our recent results with aryne [4+2] cycloadditions with ester and ether linked acyclic trans dienes. Several examples are provided.
