Chemical Education Workshop - Using 3-D Models to Facilitate Learning about Macromolecules | |||
| Students often have a difficult time understanding what molecules look like and molecular models are just one way to facilitate their understanding about the structural features of molecules. Molecular structure becomes even more difficult for student when they begin to study macromolecules. This workshop will focus on various types of molecular modeling, including computer modeling. Participants will work with modeling kits to build models of various molecules. They will also use 3-D models built at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) to gain more information about structure and function. Finally, Rasmol, a piece of freeware, will be used to gain some experience with computer modeling. | |||
