Chemical sensors based on optical transduction principles: What's new since Tomas Hirschfeld?

Radislav A. Potyrailo, GE Global Research Center, Niskayuna, NY

Laser light sources attract our attention for chemical and biological sensing applications because of their several unique properties vs. other conventional light sources. In our talk, we will present several examples from our recent work that focus on the use of lasers for chemical sensing of water and air with polymeric formulated sensor materials developed using combinatorial and high-throughput screening methodologies.
