Recent Advances in Di- and Triphenylmethanide Alkaline Earth Metal Chemistry

MARITES A. GUINO-O, Jacob Alexander, Weijie Teng, and Karin Ruhlandt-Senge. SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY, SYRACUSE, NY

Recent developments in the organometallic chemistry of the heavy alkaline earth metals verify their potential in various applications, including synthetic chemistry and polymerization initiation. We here present synthetic and reactivity studies on heavy alkaline earth metal di- and triphenylmethanides displaying different forms of ion association. The potential of the compounds as polymerization initiators will be evaluated.
