Electronics on Plastic using Organic and Inorganic Thin-Film Transistors: Lessons Learned

Michael G. Kane, Sarnoff Corporation, Princeton, NJ

Materials and processes have been developed for fabricating thin-film transistors on plastic using organic and inorganic semiconductors and dielectrics. At our laboratory we have evaluated a variety of systems for thin-film transistors on plastic, including small-molecule and polymer semiconductors, laser-crystallized polysilicon, and nanostructured materials. In this paper we will summarize conclusions we have drawn and lessons we have learned about these systems and their applications.
