We are interested in the design and synthesis of magnetic ladders and have prepared several complexes of this type. However, to obtain detailed magnetic lattice information on these materials and to confirm that the magnetic lattice matches the structural lattice, neutron scattering experiments are required. Where the incoherent scattering from hydrogen atoms prevents interpretation of the results, deuterated materials are required. The results of our efforts to prepare deuterated samples of (2,3-dimethylpyridinium)2CuBr4 and (quinoxaline)CuBr2 and the resulting neutron scattering experiments will be presented.
