Metal complexes of cross-bridged tetraazamacrocycles have exhibited remarkable kinetic stability. This enhanced stability has generated interest in radiopharmaceutical applications of these ligands. We will present progress towards the synthesis of both aryl- and N-functionalized derivatives of dibenzo-annelated cross-bridged cyclam 1. A copper(II) complex of 1 (R = Me, R' = H) has been prepared and the x-ray crystal structure will be reported.
