Reactivity of Tris(trimethylsilylphosphite) TMSP: Anilinum Salt of the chlorambucil biphosphonate

Luis Vargas, Queensborough Community College, Bayside, NY, Ralph Stephani, St. John's University, Jamaica, NY, and Renzo Samame, Queensborough Community College, Bayside, NY.

The synthesis of 1-hydroxy-1,-biphosphonic anilinum salt using TMSP is being reported. Chlorambucil is an alkylating agent of the nitrogen mustard group that works by binding DNA strands. The inclusion of a biphosphonate group, known for having exceptional affinity for bone tissue and as an inhibitor of bone resorption, increases the utility of this molecule as therapeutical agent against bone diseases.
