We have used a continuum model of solvent to calculate the pKa value of simple molecules. In this work, we will present the results of treating the solute molecule with one or two explicit water molecules in the continuum model. This work will provide new and important insight into the modeling of the “first” hydration shell of the solute molecule with or without explicit waters within the quantum continuum models.
