Health aspects of nanomaterials

Arden P. Zipp, SUNY College at Cortland, Cortland, NY

Nanomaterials offer the promise of a wide range of benefits in the areas of material strength, flexibility and electrical conductivity. Their size, which allows them easy entry into cells, also makes them candidates as drug delivery systems. However, this same property creates potential helath hazards. This presentation will describe the current state of knowledge about the health aspects (both good and bad) of nanomaterials.
