The group 15 or pnictogen elements, nitrogen, phosphorus, arsenic, antimony, and bismuth, are key players in biology, industry, environment, and medicine. Both nature and humanity access the rich chemistry of these elements using metals, the topic of this symposium. Presentations include the conversion of atmospheric nitrogen to ammonia and organic molecules, preparations of value-added phosphorus molecules, new arsenic chemistry, and bismuth ligands.
