Supramolecular chemistry is one of the most exciting and expanding area of chemistry. Crown ethers are one of the most exploited moieties in supramolecular chemistry due to their ability to bind with electron poor quest species. Various highly conjugated dibenzo crown ethers and their corresponding complex species have been prepared. Optical properties of these complexes and their chemistry such as Bergman Cyclization will be discussed.
