There are growing interests in nanoparticle-polymer composites for their wide range of uses in industry from photovoltaic devices to possible biological applications. We have successfully incorporated silver and CuInS2 nanoparticles (NPs) into various polymer matrices. In order to form homogenous NP-polymer composites we had to address issues such as compatibility in both polarity and solubility in common solvents. The effects of polymer encapsulation on NPs such as changes in optical properties will be presented.
