| Cancer has recently overtaken heart disease as the leading cause of death in the US for people under the age of 85 and is the second leading cause of death overall (CA Cancer J Clin 2005, 55, 10-30). Because of the impact of cancer on national health, the NCI Challenge Goal 2015 has become the vision of the National Cancer Institute, namely “Eliminating the Suffering and Death Due to Cancer”. This symposium will report on the efforts of several researchers in the Pacific Northwest and how they are addressing the NCI Challenge goal 2015. | |||
