Chemistry and the Law

Protecting intellectual property with patents has become an important component of the missions of scientists across the business landscape. The complexities of patent law, combined with innovative technology, require the melding together of specialized scientific and legal expertise in order to effectively protect and commercialize intellectual property. In this session, lawyers will meet scientists at the scientists' point of view on selected topics in patent law. Emphasis will be placed on what scientists need to know about key issues regarding patents.
