Results of the determination of copper, iron, and zinc by inducively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry of crayfish from Southwest Louisiana will be presented. Sampling procedures as well as sample preparation will be discussed. Studies included female and male as well as whole crayfish and tailmeat. Concetrations were in the low to several hundred ppm range for the three metals. Female crayfish had around 15 percent lower metal concentrations than male.
