Spectroscopic investigation of poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(ethylene glycol) with dissolved borohydride and tetrafluoroborate salts

Brett D. Fillmore, Morgan Brown, Charles Collins, Keith Keesee, and Shawna S. York. Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, OK

Systems of poly(ethylene oxide), PEO, and poly(ethylene glycol), PEG, with dissovled lithium borohydride (LiBH4), sodium borohydride (NaBH4), lithium tetrafluoroborate (LiBF4), or sodium tetrafluoroborate (NaBF4) at various concentrations were studied via FT-IR spectropscopy. Differences in cation-anion and ion-polymer interactions were seen between the two polymer systems.
