| Workshop for Teachers: Creating and Using “Data-Based” WebCT Assessments. This workshop is intended to acquaint participants with the general role and specific operation of webCT in our freshman chemistry program with emphasis on assessments, including homework, practice tests and major examinations. Each participant will first log onto our site as a student, use some webCT tools and take a simple “data-based” quiz. Then participants will learn to use Respondus to create new exam questions and these will be uploaded to our webCT page in categories. The process of using question categories to create assessments will be demonstrated. Participants will be given designer status and allowed to create “data-based” quizzes. Particular attention will be paid to calculated (template) questions. Strategies for creating and using such questions will be discussed. Participants or groups will need to bring laptop computers with wireless cards. | |||
