The Center for Workshops in the Chemical Sciences (CWCS) provides in-depth summer workshops which promote faculty development and valuable hands-on lab experiences for college and university faculty. Participants who attended workshops between 2001 and 2006 were interviewed during the Spring of 2009 about their thoughts on the workshop and how their careers have progressed since they attended. These interviews were compiled and a coding scheme was developed to obtain correlations between the long-term successes of the participants and factors present in their attended workshop(s). The strategies used to develop a working coding scheme and the findings obtained from the phone interviews, such as specific goals of the participants and whether or not they were completed, will be discussed.
